How to become a certified pediatric sleep consultant
Have you ever thought about becoming a Sleep Consultant?
This works for two types of people:
- The mom who was able to get her kids to sleep through the night at an early age or…
- The mom who couldn’t, decides to get certified anyway, gets her kids to sleep through the night, and now feels confident and empowered to help others
Which one are you?
Did you also know you could have $2,000 – $10,000 months?
How do I know?
I met Jayne Havens.
She decided to become a Sleep Consultant as a hobby since she had early success getting her kids to sleep through the night, and was always getting asked…how did you do it?
She started to charge people and in her very first month doing this as a business, she made $2,400!
Then she worked her way up to having $10,000 months, within her very first year in business!
The price of getting a mom to sleep is invaluable.
Naturally, other women wanted to learn how to do the same, so she began to teach them, and guess what…
They started having $2,000 to $10,000 months!
So if you want to know how to become a Sleep Consultant we’re going to talk to the woman who knows this field the best.
We asked Jayne several questions, so by the end of this article you will know the exact steps to take to become a sleep consultant.
Video Alert! I had the privilege to go through an in-depth overview of what it takes to become a sleep consultant with Jayne, so if this is something you want to consider, this is a MUST WATCH.

Here is how you can become a sleep consultant
What do Sleep Consultants do?
Sleep Consultants provide parents with a clear strategy as well as a high level of support in order to help their clients achieve better sleep for their children. The typical process takes two weeks or less.
I teach the virtual model of this business where most, if not all of your work can be done from your phone or iPad.
The process starts off with a phone call to assess the situation. The Sleep Consultant then creates a customized sleep plan, and the parents execute. Through the process, the Sleep Consultant provides support via text and email so the parents feel empowered to make the necessary changes in order for their children to start sleeping more independently and eventually through the night!
What qualifications do you need to be a sleep consultant?
There is no governing body that requires Sleep Consultants to be certified, but if this is something you want to pursue, taking a sleep consultant training online not only gives you the confidence to know that you are qualified, but it also gives you credibility in the eyes of your clients that you are qualified to help them get their children to sleep through the night.
Remember, you don’t know what you don’t know. A sleep training method that may have worked for your children may not work for others, taking a sleep consultant certification course educates you on all the different ways to help your clients’ children to sleep through the night.
How much money can you make as a sleep consultant?
If you are working part-time as a sleep consultant, your potential earnings can be between $1,500-$5,000 per month. If you decide to do this full-time, your potential earnings are between $6,000-$15,000 per month using my model.
There are a variety of ways to charge for your services.
A one-time “ask me anything” phone call is often priced between $75-$200 or you can offer extended consultations.
The average rate for a two-week consultation is $400-$850.
What is a good sleep training course for professionals?
Not to be biased, but the Sleep Consultant Certification Course I created through the Center for Pediatric Sleep Management is the course to take. There is not another course out there that goes more in-depth about the different sleep training techniques AND the business side of sleep consulting.
It’s important to understand the different sleep training techniques, but it’s just as important to be able to get clients and get paid, and we teach you how to do that. You will also have access to our private Facebook group with other sleep consultants which is another great way to learn and grow your business in real-time.
