BW appoints 7 partners as growth continues

Barnett Waddingham, the pensions and professional services consultancy, has appointed seven new equity partners to bring its total number of partners to 93.

In addition the firm has made 15 principal and 15 associate promotions across a range of business areas including advising trustees, employers, insurers and private clients. 

The firm says the promotions reflect strong organic growth and continued client demand. 

Andrew Vaughan, senior partner at BW, said: “There have been many changes in how we work over the last two years since the start of the pandemic, however our unwavering focus on delivering exceptional client service means we have continued to experience strong and consistent organic growth. 

“While our client base continues to grow, we have also expanded the range of services we provide in line with our strategic goals and client demand. This is reflected in the diversity of expertise in our 2022 promotions.”

The new partners are: 

Chris Ramsey (Scheme Actuary and Head of DB Endgame (Trustees), London) 

Dean Hughes (Head of Risk Advisory and Analytics, London) 

Jane Ralph (Actuary and Head of Corporate Consulting Midlands, Birmingham) 

Simon Bramwell (Head of Longevity Risk Transactions, London) 

Wan Hsien Heah (Senior Consulting Actuary Non-Life Insurance Consultant, London) 

Lucy Cresswell (Senior Pension Management Consultant, Cheltenham) 

Melanie Durrant (Public Sector Actuary, Cheltenham) 

Three long-standing partners are be retiring. They are Nick Salter, one of BW’s founding partners and previously senior partner from June 2012 to May 2020. Shirley Jackson, who led BW’s pensions management team and pensions and insurance longevity risk specialist, Dave Grimshaw. 

• BW has also this month split off its Pension Executive and Management Services arm as a standalone, specialist business area to underline the importance of pension management services to trustees.
