Announcing the Dynamic Duo “Double Your Donations” Challenge!

Some generous readers are eager to help turbocharge this fundraiser. So if you haven’t have the chance to contribute yet, please take advantage of this “double your donations” challenge!

Two loyal anonymous donors have teamed up to issue a challenge for this fundraiser. They will match the next 30 donations of $100 (and multiples of $100 like $200 up to their match total). Make their big-hearted offer a rousing success by going to our donation page now!

Readers continue to send us thoughtful notes of appreciation, and we thought we’d share some of them: From Acadia:

At that point, we will have to have our own sources of information discovery, development and spread, without any referrence to what CDC says …

Heh, it seems that’s pretty much where we’re at already, and more or less how NC is working for me now. The discussion here has been the go-to for all matters relating to COVID, not only because there are sensible people with decades of practical experience in medicine speaking their minds (e.g., IM Doc), researchers who understand the nuts and bolts, but a community of level-headed people willing to submit official discourse to criticism and BS testing. Do I follow any “guidance” from the CDC? Nope. The only reason I see to pay attention is to have some idea about the disinformation they are spreading and how it affects others around me.

Again, kudos to all at NC for providing clarity on this, and many other matters!

From Thomas H:

NC’s focus on critical thinking is a key aspect of my mental hygiene regimen. As I do not watch TV news, listen to public radio news, or subscribe to any social media platforms, I rely on carefully curated sources like NC, Counterpunch, Consortium News, Black Agenda Report, Boston Review and Pluralistic. The picture that emerges from these sources is at odds with the mainstream chatter I hear in everyday conversations between colleagues, neighbors, associates, and elected officials. I’m grateful to have news sources that provide ready refutation of some of the most outrageous assertions I encounter e.g. Ukranian flags on porches & bumper stickers, “because markets” – neoliberalism über alles, and “the parliamentarian won’t let us… .” After reading reports in my favorite sources, I can safely walk away from the computer, head outside to the garden and gain much needed balance and equanimity.

And paddlingwithoutboats:

NC is a bastion of normal thinking, acute intellectual and analytical cogitation. What a relief.

You can make your contribution here, via check, debit or credit card, or PayPal. If you give by check (we like checks!), be sure to let us know by e-mailing us at yves@nakedcapitalism.com with “Dynamic Duo Challenge” in the subject line.

Thanks to these two benefactors for their generosity, and I hope readers will respond in kind.

And if $100 is a stretch for you, don’t let that stop you from making a donation if you’ve been planning to but haven’t had time yet. Every contribution helps us meet our goals. And the other important way to help is by telling others about our work, whether in person to friends, family, and colleagues, or in social media like Facebook and Twitter. So I hope you’ll take him up on his fundraiser challenge in whatever way you can!
