Highstreet Shops Offer You Vouchers for Old Clothes

Reading Time: 3 mins

Clothes Vouchers. John Lewis, New Look, H&M, M&S, George at ASDA and Schuh all have a great way to clear the clutter and save money: recycling scheme where you can swap your old clothes for vouchers.

Here’s a little information on each one:

JOHN LEWIS

John Lewis stores award credit for returning your old clothes as part of the FashionCycle scheme. They want jackets, coats, shorts, trousers, jeans, shirts, t-shirts, jumpers, cardigans, childrenswear, dresses, jumpsuits and skirts, and you’ll get £5 credit which you can use toward a purchase of at least £20 on menswear, womenswear and childrenswear (only one voucher per purchase.)

You need to make the new purchase at the same time you return the items, and it applies in-store only. The final rule is that you need to be a member of the free My John Lewis scheme.

NEW LOOK AND HOSPICES UK (15% OFF)

New Look offer a voucher worth 15% off the full price of New Look items if you donate them a bag of clothing at a participating hospice charity shop. You’ll need to scan a QR code at the shop to get the voucher, and the clothes have to be in decent condition. The voucher can only be used once but you can donate for an exchange as many times as you want. You can only use the vouchers in New Look shops, not online.

H&M clothes recycling scheme (£5 voucher)

Donate any bag of old/unwanted clothes at an H&M shop and you’ll be given a £5 voucher to spend as part of the H&M Garment Collection programme. So that’s potentially one voucher per bag of clothes, with a £25 minimum spend with each voucher.

You can donate clothes from anywhere, as well as any kind of textile as the fabrics are all recycled. This scheme also applies at H&M’s Monki and & Other Stories stores. Furthermore, & Other Stories has a beauty recycling programme offering 10% off their cosmetics when you hand over an empty beauty product.

M&S and Oxfam Shwopping Clothes Exchange (£5 voucher/freebie)

There’s a minimum £35 spend and it’s valid solely on clothing, home or beauty. You can find your nearest Oxfam here and read the full terms and conditions.

Sparks Freebies

If you want to drop clothes off at an M&S Store you can scan a QR code to receive a free treat via the Sparks Loyalty Scheme. Ihe clothes can come from any retailer and doesn’t have to be clothing: shoes, scarves, jewellery, handbags, belts, hats, bedding, towels, throws and napkins are all accepted, and then sold by Oxfam or recycled. Plus you can get the Sparks treat every 30 days.

George (10% off) at ASDA

Bag up 10 or more unwanted clothes and textiles and donate them at ASDA for a 10% off code to use at George. If you’re boxing your items up, be aware that there are limits on the parcel size (50cm x 30cm x 30cm) and no more than 10kg.

Check in advance if your local store is participating.
