NAB extends flood grants to SA flood victims

NAB has announced that it will extend its $1,000 grants for a further three weeks to provide funds to customers experiencing major structural damage or severe internal damage to their property due to the South Australia floods.

Business and agriculture customers who have suffered severe damage to property, equipment, and fencing, or loss of stock or livestock, as well as customers who have suffered significant damage to their primary place of residence, can apply for the grants until Jan. 5.

They must live in officially declared disaster areas, as listed by the Department of Home Affairs’ Disaster Assist website, to be eligible for the grants and other assistance, with all their enquiries to be assessed on a case-by-case basis and require evidence showing significant property damage.

Eligible customers will be provided initial support of up to a total of $1,000,000, with any further customer support measures to be considered as the situation evolves.

Severely hit customers can also access other customer supports, including loan deferral or reduced payment arrangements, and the waiving of some fees or charges relating to their accounts.

“The flooding in the Riverland region is now expected to peak later than originally predicted, with emergency warnings impacting a number of communities in the area,” said Krissie Jones, NAB executive retail. “Flood levels in many areas are expected to peak between Christmas and the New Year – we will continue to make sure anyone affected can get the support they need.”

Customers can apply online at nab.com.au/common/forms/disastergrant. For further assistance, business customers can call NAB Assist on 1300 308 132 or 1300 769 650.

Previously announced support measures can be found here.
