PFS to consult members on CII dispute

The Personal Finance Society – currently embroiled in a major dispute with parent body the CII – is to carry out a live online consultation with members on Friday.

Invitations to the lunchtime event are being sent by PFS interim CEO Don MacIntyre.

The PFS will also carry out a member survey to learn more about members’ views.

The PFS says the consultation and survey are a chance for members to have their say.

In the invitation the PFS says: “You may be aware that for some time, the CII and PFS Boards have been working hard to resolve and reconcile a range of complex issues, which included independent mediation that was unsuccessful. On 21 December the PFS Board was notified that the CII had taken the decision to exercise its right to appoint three additional directors to the PFS Board with the intention to add additional directors so that Institute Directors form a majority.”

The PFS says the consultation webinar will be an opportunity for members to put questions to PFS board members and for the PFS board to get feedback to “help develop its response to the CII.”

The PFS says it is important that the board is able to understand the views and opinions of as many PFS members as possible.

Members can submit questions when they register for the webinar as well as live during the webinar. The webinar will not be made available on demand after the event.

The webinar takes place on Friday 20 January from 12 noon to 1.30 pm.

Members should soon receive an email with a personalised invitation to complete a short survey and an invitation to register for the webinar.
